Things
I Like.
This
is a departure from my usual rantings in that I will highlight sites
and people here that I like or that impress me.
The
Firearms Act Firstly..
My old web site contained a link to a dissertation written by Guy
Fraser Staniland written as a means to his law degree.
The entire dissertation is available for download here as a ZIP
file
Unzip it into a clean directory and then run the HTML file and
enjoy.
It is
also available in the House of Commons Library.
You
may find it educational.
Speed
Cameras In my rants page, I mentioned
the desire to post some interesting sites about speed cameras. Try
these for starters
Link

Link 2

If you want more, type 'hate speed cameras' in to any search
engine and behold.
Political
Correctness
I
am a proud member of the Campaigns Against Political Correctness.
You can be too by clicking this link www.capc.co.uk
If
you are wound up by politically correct garbage then I urge you
to sign up.
You
get a few leaflets to give to yours friends and a window sticker.
There are some tales on the site to raise anyone's blood pressure.
How
about health and Safety suggesting that Ballet teachers should NOT
be allowed to TOUCH their students. Maybe a big stick is a suggested
alternative?
Or the police witness who was NOT allowed to call the perpetrator
of a crime FAT and the term Well Build was deemed to be acceptable.
The Governor of California is definitely "Well Build",
but FAT?
Equal opportunity law has been suitably manipulated such that MEN
can now sue if their employer insists that they wear a TIE.
When
these ridiculous laws were introduced, a small ad appeared in a
paper for builders. The ad said "Applicants must be prepared
to strip to the waist in summer"
Equal pay, certainly. Opportunity too if the physics allows it.
Other than that, get real.
It
reminds me of Monty Python's Life of Brian where a conversation
between two militants goes like this.
I
want to have babies.
But
you can't have babies Stan. Where is the foetus going to gestate,
you going to keep it in a box?
Don't
you oppress me
OK,
lets agree that we shall fight for your RIGHT to have babies.
If
is wasn't meant to be funny, you could almost hear a resolution
being passed in one of our loony councils couldn't you.
By
the way The peoples republic of Lambeth have decreed that the towns
Christmas Lights will now be called Winter Light so as not to offend
Non Christian Faiths.
I wonder how many Mosques have had their planning permission refused
on the basis that it might offend non Mosque affiliated religions?
Funny
and Clever Stuff If
you like computer animation then look at this site specifically
jebsjobs
This
short movie had me in hysterics as one of my jobs was at ITN in
Facilities Maintenance and when the name was changed, in Studio
Support.
Nick
Forshaw at Weakend Productions is a very clever man.
His animations have appeared on TV and though his site makes the
claim "Not as good as Pixar", his work is as technically
superb on a fraction of the budget.
His
take off of "The Crazy Frog" is sheer genius AND you can
have a free download for your mobile phone.
If
you visit the site and enjoy what you see, drop him a mail and tell
him.
