"Release Amplifier". The Problem Solver.

This nifty little podule solves all problems associated with traps that have overly sensive release circuits; those with very high release currents or those with 110 volts AC on the release wires...

Some traps cannot supply the flea power a typical Claymate requires either for power (800uA) or for trap detection (200uA) and these can fire continually with Claymate.

These traps also tend to suffer similar problems from wet connectors, although the trap setup is usually given an unnecessary handful of adjustment from ignorance before the wet connector is isolated (and the trap still fires continually from over adjustment).

This widget has a release current of around 20mA which is a good compromise between insensitivity to the wet and the ability to run much longer or thinner release cables than the trap manufacturer might suggest.

The Release Amplifier is powered (typically) from a trap derived power source from 12 to 24 volts AC/DC. The Claymate (taking power through the relay) then simply energises the relay which fires the trap.
The trap release current, if it is especially high (200-300mA!), only travels down the shortest possible wires to the Widget, effectively giving an increased battery life as all the available battery voltage is available where it is needed with no losses from the release cable.

We can make custom version of these (or any other widget) especially for trap manufacturers.
It is surprising how many manufacturers know all there is to know about their trap mechanics yet have no clue as to the electrical workings of their own product.

Some simply over engineer the release circuit making it overly sensitive to wet connectors and in one case, they provide a release voltage too low for Claymate to fire the trap. (We test at 9 volts)
